3470

Pop punk veterans BLINK-182 continue their comeback with a brand new video for “After Midnight,” the second single from their new album, Neighborhoods. The video was directed by Issac Rentz (Cage The Elephant, Motion City Soundtrack), who also worked on their previous video for “Up All Night”). According to Mark Hoppus, “the concept [of the video] is troubled love found in a psych ward.”

Check the video out after the break.

REVIEW: Klaypex – ‘Loose Dirt’

klaypex_01

Dubstep is one of those subculture music genres that still hasn’t quite hit the mainstream. You won’t see KIIS playing much of it, and it doesn’t quite have a home on the satellite radio stations, but it is gaining quite the crowd, mainly thanks to sites like Youtube, Myspace and SoundCloud, artists have media outlets to get their sound out. Many of these artists have found huge following using these methods. Skrillex is one name people hear quite a bit in the Dubstep world. He, among others, has paved the way for up and coming artists to showcase their talent.

REVIEW: Kitty, Daisy & Lewis – ‘Smoking in Heaven’

kittydaisyandlewismain

In a world of reboots and revivals, many people have become jaded at the sound of someone trying to “recreate” something that’s been done before. Too many times have we seen flopped reboots of movies, and sampling music from decades past has become all too popular in mainstream music. However, once in a while, someone comes along who faithfully reproduces a certain kind of sound while throwing in their own style. In turn, something wonderful is created. Kitty, Daisy & Lewis have done just that.

REVIEW – Boondock Saints – ‘In Nomine Patris’ Trade Paperback

BDS_INP_Trade_Cvrc

The Boondock Saints was the sleeper hit of the end of the 20th century.  It had the perfect combination of grit, action, and quotable lines that put it into fans’ top 10 favorite movies of all time. People can’t seem to get enough of the story (despite its not-so-well-received sequel), and thankfully Innfusion and 12 Gauge Comics gave us a story worth pining for.  Written by director Troy Duffy and inked by J.B Love, In Nomine Patris follows a new story of Connor and Murphy. This story intertwines with the events of the second feature movie, and even features a story about the original saint, Noah McManus.

NBC Cancels ‘Playboy Club’; Full Order to ‘Up All Night’, ‘Whitney’

nbc_logo1

In a single stroke one dies, two live on, at least until May.

NBC spilled the first blood of the new TV season by canceling the low-rated and ire of the Parent’s Television Council’s very being, The Playboy Club. Apparently attempting to replicate the Mad Men vibe nets you 3.4 million viewers and a 1.2 in the demo. Things didn’t start strong and fell progressively worse. At least the show lasted three episodes, which was more than Lonestar lasted lasted last season.

With the death comes new life as NBC has given full season orders to the laugh-track/audience “enhanced” Whitney and the awesome Up All Night (which hits pretty close to home being the father of a three month old).

More as shows live and die during the first month of the season as it develops.

REVIEW: ‘American Horror Story’ (01×01) – Pilot

AHS_castShot

If you want to give Ryan Murphy credit for one thing, he’s apt at creating characters that are so unlikable you only continue to watch to see how low they will go. With Nip/Tuck the doctors of McNamara/Troy were so terrifically awful that you were glued to your TV screen, at least until the ill-fated move to LA, but with American Horror Story, set in LA, you almost want to be in the screen with them, if only to warn them of their own stupidity.
